Bourbon, Potosi and Steelville are all about 20 miles from the 2 trail heads.
Take Hwy. N out of Bourbon, about 7 miles heading south. Make a right on Hwy. W. It is on the right.
There are 10 primitive campsites at Brazil with picnic tables, highline posts, fire sites. The trail is a 26 mile loop with lots of options to shorten or lengthen via fire and logging trails. Mostly wooded, single track, some switchbacks, hilly/moderately rocky terrain. Used by mtn bikers, some hikers. Trail was built by Civilian Conservation Corps in '30's. Some nice stands of mature pine in mostly hardwood forests.
Only 9 miles from Meramec Farm Cabins, Trail-Riding Vacations

Everton: (Springfield area)
Hulston Mill trail located on the south side of the Stockton Reservior. It is a beautiful trail, culminating at the historic Hulston Mill, which is currently being restored. There are two public access parking locations, but I would also like to let people know of a day or overnight spot on my property. This location has water, electricity, outhouses, and a pavilion style shelter. It also has hitching posts for the horses, and plenty of parking for the rigs. We aren't but a few hundred feet from two trail heads abutting turnback creek, and being that we aren't a quarter mile from the river, it is also great spot for fishing or a refreshing swim after a long ride. We practically ride the trail daily, and are disappointed at the lack of use from other riders, which leads us to believe that it is not known about.
Directions:
The Hulston Mill has a sign on Hwy 160, about thirty miles northwest of Springfield (halfway between Everton and Greenfield) at county road EE. We are located exactly one mile past EE, north on RD 181 one mile till it makes a T, then left about a half a mile. We are the last place on the road. The pavilion area is left open to the public so it is a first come first serve situation (though to this point we have never had anyone unable to park), and is free, though donations are welcome to help with the electricity bill.

Greenfield: Located seven miles Northeast of Greenfield, Missouri, the camp serves as trailhead to the Hulston Mill Reserve which offers some 15 miles of scenic trails along the Stockton Lake shoreline. The reserve is under the management of the Missouri Department of Conservation. Under management of the Dade County Historical Society, camp fees are paid on the honor system and the campground offers water, electric, a shower, picnic tables, lantern poles, and playground equipment; all in the midst of a historical landmark setting.
